EE.UU. sancionó al fundador del partido gobernante de Georgia por “socavar” la democracia

Como resultado de las sanciones emitidas, quedan bloqueadas las propiedades y activos que el sancionado tenga en territorio de EE.UU. y se prohíbe a los estadounidenses tener transacciones con ellos.

On 14 May, the Georgian Parliament adopted the law 'On Transparency of Foreign Influence', which was introduced by the ruling Georgian Dream party in parliament in April. The bill has been met with resistance by the opposition, who believe that it is aimed at stigmatizing non-governmental organizations and free media that are not controlled by the authorities. The EU and the US called on the Georgian authorities to withdraw the law and warned that its adoption would close Georgia's path to the EU.
